Enter the Happrun...
It goes through auto setup when you power it up. Within a minute it is ready to use.
We are projecting onto a 60" (diagonal measurement) screen, and the image is bright with good contrast, and excellent color. The room is not really dark, and still the image is watchable. It isn't as bright as the old projector, but not too far off (and the led's should last a good long while).
Fan noise is actually a little quieter than the old projector. We did use the Viewsonic in "whisper mode" to keep the fan noise down. It also dimmed the image to keep the lamp from heating up as much. This could be one reason the Happrun brightness isn't really that much less than what we had.
So, far it has impressed me. I'm sure that over time I will learn about some of the shortcomings, and I will update the review at that time. Still first impressions are good.
This projector was easy enough to set up; the keystoning and auto-focus features worked surprisingly better than expected, and it was easy to mirror my PC through wifi. Setup was actually a breeze.
But unfortunately, the picture for this unit is nowhere near as bright as it seems in the attached video, or as it's advertised. Clarity and textures were okay, but even in a fully dark room at night I found the projection too dim. Smaller text can also be fuzzy and a chore to read, making this unit poor for productivity purposes. These are the main dealbreakers and why I have returned the projector and would not recommend it. The unit was also fairly loud, but I mitigated this by using my own headset.
TLDR: certain setup features were decent, but the actual visual quality was very insufficient. This thing feels more like a cheap toy.
Further commentary:
For $100 I feel that the projectors in this entire class are not good enough value, and that any prospective buyers should look into more expensive name brand projectors or alternative viewing options like monitors. A projector seems like a good idea but the market and tech for them is not at a very consumer-friendly stage right now IMO, it feels like there's either cheap junk or stuff that's too expensive, or midranged used hardware that isn't user-friendly or modern. Few if any decent options at a palatable price range.
